We lost heat a couple weeks ago - with snow on the ground and a chill in the air - and I was frustrated at the "these switches break on all the furnaces" response from the repairman. Nearly $400 later, I was telling myself that I am lucky to have a house, to be able to pay the $400 and still buy groceries. I'm not sure that I was as gracious as you, though.
